CIMT, or carotid intima-media thickness, is a non-invasive ultrasound screening that looks at the inner layers of the carotid artery walls. This screening may provide helpful wellness insight related to vascular health and preventative cardiovascular awareness.

Top Ultrasound brings the equipment directly to you. All that is needed is access to a standard electrical outlet and enough space for the ultrasound machine and sonographer to comfortably perform the exam. Your scan can be completed in the area of your home where you feel most comfortable, such as a bedroom, living room, or private open space.

Please be ready at your scheduled appointment time so your scan can begin promptly when Top Ultrasound arrives.

For this exam, please wear a comfortable top that allows easy access to both sides of the neck. Avoid turtlenecks or high-collar clothing if possible. Necklaces may need to be removed before the scan begins.
